Get Re-Energized

Thursday, March 22, 2012

Hi Ladies, yes I know it has been a while. Admittedly, I have slowed up on my goals. It happens, but this post is actually an example of what we have envisioned for this group of women. At random, a member from our group posted perhaps the most inspirational video to my FB wall that I have seen. It has me inspired all over again and it has also helped me to see that maybe some of the things I thought I wanted, I don't want bad enough and some things I didn't think I wanted as much, are the things that I truly want. I am back on my grind ladies, so to those of you that are still going strong...please maintain it. To those of you that had slowed up a little, pick yourselves back up and let's get it in! I found the video below very motivational and inspirational.

Brunch and Goals

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Hi Ladies,

This is just a friendly reminder that our first group outing will be on this coming up Saturday at 11am. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am already trying to make up in my mind what I want to eat because there are so many choices. Please bring with you any ideas that you may have on how we can help to keep each other motivated in between our meetings. That is probably going to be the most important part of why we do what we do. Happy Tuesday and may your Wednesday be filled with everything that you want and even a few things you didn't know you wanted!

Peter's Law Anybody?

Sunday, February 19, 2012

Earlier today, I was having a conversation with the Mr. He was telling me that his former boss used to blame all of the company issues on "Murphy's Law. My response was to expose him to Peter's Laws (The Creed of the Sociopathic Obsessive Compulsive). They say that inspiration comes from all types of unexpected places and so as I  scanned the 19 laws, I realized that a lot of these laws are very applicable to goals and goal setting. Not all of them in a literal sense, but it does at least give you are starting place when things being to go awry. Instead of saying, it just wasn't meant to be, Peter's Laws pretty much say, where there is a will, there is a way. I have provided the laws below for your reading pleasure, and made bold the ones that I think apply to the essence of empowerment. Please feel free to comment below about your favorite law, or if you feel like these laws can even be applicable to motivation, goals, or inspiration. Happy reading Ladies!

Peter's Laws

(The Creed of the Sociopathic Obsessive Compulsive)

1.If anything can go wrong, fix it! (To hell with Murphy!)

2.When given a choice, take both.

3.Multiple projects lead to multiple successes.

4.Start at the top and work your way up.

5.Do it by the book... but be the author.

6.When forced to compromise, ask for more.

7.If you can't beat them, join them, and then beat them.

8.If it's worth doing, it's got to be done now!

9.If you can't win, change the rules.

10.If you can't change the rules, then ignore them.

11.Perfection is not optional.

12.When faced without a challenge, make one.

13."No" simply means begin again at one level higher.

14.Don't walk when you can run.

15.Bureaucracy is a challenge to be conquered with a righteous attitude, a tolerance for stupidity, and a bulldozer when necessary.

16.When in doubt, THINK!

17.Patience is a virtue, but persistence to the point of success is a blessing.

18.The squeaky wheel gets replaced.

19.The faster you move, the slower time passes, the longer you live!

Positive Food For Thought

Monday, February 13, 2012

Okay, Ladies..Here is my confession for the day, I am not a computer technical person. How I came to be the author of this blog was by process of elimination, maybe I should add learning the basics of computer technical stuff to my list of goals...Oh Well. With that disclaimer out of the way, this post is intended to be just a little food for thought.

When I read the quote, it gives me certainty that all of the effort I am putting in to my goals is not in vain and I see in it, permission to push myself harder because I know that I am capable of more. By nature, I am very creative in my thinking and creative in all of my passions. With creativity comes a lot of doubt, seeing an image in your mind and making it happen are two different things. But with time, the image and the end result will come together in to something that you can be proud of, as long as you are willing to push through the doubt, be committed to your goal, and do the work. There is nothing more important than doing the work, there is no way to take advantage of an opportunity if you are too lazy to get up and answer the door when it knocks.

To view the actual quote, please just click on the image below and it will open larger so that it become legible. Every time I try to make it bigger on this actual blog page...it gets cut off. Again, I am not a technical genius. Please leave your comments below regarding either the beautifully written quote below, or any tips that can help me with the technical parts of creating a blog. We simply invite any comments at all!

Goals Are Important

Saturday, February 11, 2012

The main purpose of our group is to provide support for one another while we define and achieve our goals. I stumbled up a quote below regarding the importance of setting goals:

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them. - Denis Watley

What I found most interesting about the quote is that it brings attention to the importance of defining goals. How do you know where you are going if you don't articulate where you are trying to go and how you will get there. Without goals, we are like puppies running around in a circle chasing its tail. The puppy is moving, but it's not ever really going anywhere.

With the help of one of our members, we have created a place where we can each write our goals and track our progress. This helps us to remain focused, and allows us to be accountable to each other for what we say we are going to do. Nothing like a little extra push from a friend to keep you motivated. There is an awesome page that talks about the importance of goals and how to set them. Feel free to post below about any goals you have and how you plan on achieving them, or any tips that you have either based on your successes or failures with your goals. Enjoy!

After reviewing the menu, it looks like I am going to have a hard time choosing what I am going to eat. Everything from the breakfast menu simply sounds divine. Belgian Waffles, FRESH Oatmeal, Build your own breakfast burrito, parties...the menu goes on and on. I just ate dinner, but looking at this menu makes me want to eat again.

Ladies, please comment below if the designated date, time, or location does not work for you. We really want to try and accommodate everyone. Or, you can comment below with the menu item that sounds most appetizing to you!

Kick Off Meeting Disaster

Saturday, February 4, 2012

Today was supposed to be our first official meeting, and to put it nicely, it just didn't happen. We are a group of very busy women balancing work, relationships, kids, family, friends, and personal goals. When it was all said and done, life interfered and prevented this meeting from happening. It is okay, with every plan, there is always the risk that it will not come together as you had thought. We are all still very motivated and optimistic that this will in fact start a new wave of women's groups coming together to inspire one another. The originators of this group will meet up tomorrow to re-group and strategize. There is so much to talk about, but we are certainly not discouraged.

How can you be discouraged when you have such an awesome idea and know that it can affect so many people's lives.

We Have Purpose

Friday, February 3, 2012

This is a group for highly motivated women who are tired of standing in their own way. The group is created to help inspire change within ourselves. Basically creating goals that we try to attain within ourselves..and everyone else is just there to support you. We would reward ourselves by going to get our nails done, do rock climbing, or something fun as a group.

Goals can be something huge that effects many people, such as taking the world by storm, or something that is just for you, such as taking an hour out of your day just to pamper yourself. All goals are of equal importance, because they all make us better versions of our already wonderful selves!
